How to use this calculator
Enter the item price and whatever you charge the buyer for shipping — Etsy’s percentage fees apply to both, which surprises many sellers. The calculator then stacks up the 2026 fee structure: the $0.20 listing fee, the 6.5% transaction fee on the order total, and Etsy Payments processing (3% + $0.25 in the US; the defaults are editable because processing rates differ by country).
The Offsite Ads selector handles Etsy’s most misunderstood fee. Etsy advertises your listings on Google, Facebook and elsewhere; if a buyer clicks such an ad and purchases within 30 days, you pay 15% of that order — reduced to 12% once your shop has made over $10,000 in the past 365 days. Shops over that threshold cannot opt out. Leave it on "No" for an organic sale, or pick your tier to see the with-ads scenario.
The results break every fee out, then show your net revenue and the effective total fee rate — typically 10–13% for organic sales and 22–28% when Offsite Ads bite. Before setting prices, run your target price through this tool, then check the handmade pricing calculator to confirm the net still covers materials, labor and profit. Fee rates are current as of early 2026; Etsy’s fee policy page remains the authoritative source.
Frequently asked questions
What are Etsy’s fees in 2026?
A $0.20 listing fee per item, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, payment processing (3% + $0.25 for US sellers via Etsy Payments), and — only when the sale came through an Offsite Ad — 15% (or 12% for shops over $10k/yr).
Does Etsy really take a fee on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee applies to the total the buyer pays, including shipping and gift wrap. Building shipping into the item price ("free shipping") does not avoid the fee — it just moves it.
Can I opt out of Offsite Ads?
Only if your shop made under $10,000 in the past 365 days. Above that, participation is mandatory at the reduced 12% rate. Either way, the fee is charged per attributed order, capped at $100 per order.
Why is my deposit smaller than this calculator shows?
Common causes: sales tax handling, currency conversion fees (2.5% when your listing and bank currencies differ), Etsy Ads (onsite ads are a separate budget), or a subscription like Etsy Plus. This tool covers the universal per-order fees.
